MINING

U.S. Sand and Gravel is a leading supplier of high-quality materials mined from numerous pits across the big country. Our mining process uses open-pit mining, which is a surface mining technique that involves extracting minerals from an open pit in the ground.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Our team of highly skilled operators is rigorously trained and certified by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and CPR to ensure that we maintain the highest standards of safety and health.

GOING GREEN

Being environmentally conscious is of utmost importance for the sustainability of our planet and we take great pride in being a responsible steward of the environment.

  • Our 281 South Mine's water was recently used in collaboration with the Erath County Fire Department and Selden Fire Department to put out a fire that broke out in a hay barn owned by a local dairy.

  • Water from mines is also used to control dust and improve air quality.  We understand the importance of maintaining high air quality standards, and we are committed to using all available resources to minimize dust and other airborne pollutants.

  • U.S. Sand & Gravel Believes Strongly in Mine reclamation. Mine Reclamation is the process of modifying land that has been mined to ecologically functional or economically usable state. Although the process of mine reclamation occurs once mining is completed. Mine reclamation creates useful landscapes that meets a variety of goals ranging from the restoration of productive ecosystems to the creation of industrial and municipal resources. In the United States, mine reclamation is a regular part of modern mining practices.
